McDonald's North America Product Development Director

Developed new menu items based on consumer insights and POS data analysis to identity unmet consumer dining occasion needs.  Product development included supply chain development, operations optimization, and franchisee sell in.

 

  • Fruit Yogurt Parfait

    • Through analysis of POS data, our team identified a need for a healthy snack option and developed the Fruit Yogurt Parfait.

    • Developed the product with General Mills and the operational execution plan with McDonald’s Operations
       

  • McFlurry

    • Identified a consumer need through consumption occasion research for an indulgent snack product.

    • Developed the McFlurry product taste profile and operational execution plan with major suppliers
       

  • New McDonald’s French Fries

    • In response to competitive improvements in french fries, McDonald’s initiated a new fry initiative.

    • Managed three key vendors with development goals of: - Same or better taste - Longer lasting crispness - Same or better mouth feel
       

  • McGriddle Breakfast Sandwich

    • Using consumer ethnography, breakfast meal behavior was observed where consumers built their own savory/sweet breakfast creations with pancakes, sausage, and syrup

    • New sandwich build met both consumer taste demand and operational efficiencies in leveraging existing ingredients

Chicago Board of Trade Electronic Trading System

Electronic Commodities Trading System for the CBOT
  • Led the team which developed the first generation of electronic commodities trading system utilizing a GUI combined with actual pit trading dynamics.

  • Completed the $10M development project under budget.

Grocery Channel Beverage Displays
Coca Cola's Beverage Display Development for Grocery Channel
 
  • Developed a set of innovative supermarket product display fixtures to increase immediate consumption sales
     

  • Integrated end aisle display allows for product sampling, immediate consumption sales, and take home sales

Glaceau Vitamin Water Acquisition
Coca Cola's Glaceau Acquisition Opportunity Identification​
 
  • Participated on a cross functional product opportunity discovery team assigned to identify growth opportunites for the Coca Cola beverage portfolio.

  • Segmented consumer need states, compared them to Coke product offerings, and assessed a make/buy decision for new products to attack white spaces

  • In this case, a nutraceutical beverage gap was identified and the Glaceau Vitamin Water acquisition was the team's recommendation
